Refunds & Cancellation

What you are buying
Tape is a subscription. One plan, billed monthly or annually in advance, with unlimited recording and no per-hour caps. Prices are shown on the home page and are charged in US dollars through Stripe.
Free trial
New subscriptions start with a 14-day free trial of the full product. You are not charged during the trial. If you cancel before it ends, you are not charged at all.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your account, or by emailing hello@withmagic.ai. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — you keep access until then, and you are not billed again. We do not charge a cancellation fee and we do not require notice.
Cancelling does not immediately delete your recordings, but the ordinary 30-day retention still applies to each one. Download anything you want to keep.
Refunds
If Tape fails to record or deliver your session because of a fault on our side, tell us and we will refund you. That is the promise the product is built around, and we would rather refund you than argue about it.
Beyond that:
- Within 14 days of your first payment, we will refund it in full on request, for any reason.
- For an annual plan cancelled mid-term, we refund the unused whole months on request.
- For a monthly plan, we do not automatically refund a period that has already been used, but if you forgot to cancel and have not used the service that month, email us and we will sort it out.
How to ask
Email hello@withmagic.ai from the address on the account and tell us what happened. We aim to reply within two business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe and typically take 5 to 10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.
Chargebacks
If something has gone wrong, please email us first. We would much rather fix it directly than have you go through your bank, and we have never refused a refund to someone whose recording we failed to deliver.
